Overview
Ark Byron Primary Association (ABPA) is a registered charity run, and supported by, the school’s parents and carers. Our mission is to support the school through fundraising and enrichment projects whilst creating and maintaining a thriving community network for everyone associated with the school.
As soon as your child starts at the school, you will automatically become a member of ABPA. The WhatsApp groups set up by the Class Reps are a great way to hear more about ABPA initiatives and ways to get involved.

How to get involved
Volunteer – everyone involved in ABPA is doing so voluntarily, and there is lots to do. Whether you can give a little or a lot – every hour counts!
Events – ABPA runs events throughout the year – from Bake Sales to the summer fair and we need you and your families to come along and take part.
Fundraise – the projects we support the school with rely on the generosity of our parent/carer community. You can set up a monthly Direct Debit, talk to your employer about corporate sponsorship, donate directly, make your online purchases through our Easyfundraising page, and by coming along to events and spending your £!
Keep in touch –
- Email: Look out for the ABPA section in the weekly newsletters for all the up to date information and keep an eye on our noticeboard at the front gates and posters around the school!
- Whatsapp: talk to your class reps or the school office to be added to the group
- In person: members of the committee are often at assemblies, parent forums and events so do come and say hello
ABPA committee
The ABPA Committee is made up of volunteers who are keen to give something extra back to the school community.
Each class has Class Reps (ideally 2 per class) - this role includes keeping parents/carers up to date about activities and getting everyone involved to make our fundraising and events as successful as possible.
The committee is made up of a Chair, Secretary and two treasurers. We always need support so please email abpacommittee@gmail.com to join us in our mission.
Chairs: Gabby Le Rasle & Nick Allsop
Secretary: Munira Okera
Treasurers: Marie Paiser & Clare Borthwick-Stott
Why and how do we fundraise?
Ark Byron is a state-funded school. All schools fundraise to supplement their budget for enrichment activities. Ark Byron staff aim to give our children an education rich in music, arts, sports and external visits which state funding does not always allow for.
We hold a number of fundraising events throughout the year from bake sales, to quiz nights or raffles, for the children and for our wider school community. We are always open to ideas though, so please get in touch if you want to discuss any with us!
