School Closure and Mental Health and Well Being
If your child is worried or anxious about coronavirus, please click on the website below for some useful information and advice
As a parent or carer, it is good to talk to your child honestly and calmly about what is happening, and not to ignore or shield them from what is going on in the world. Remember, you don’t have to have all the answers, but reassure them that they can talk to you so they don’t feel like they’re on their own.
It is important to keep as many regular routines as possible, so that your child feels safe and that things are stable.
For further information, the Ealing Family Directory has a range of resources to support you in speaking with your child, has a range of educational activities you can do at home and examples for establishing routines.
Whether you're concerned about yourself or a loved one, these helplines and support groups can offer expert advice

As it's Mental Health Week and our school staff must be feeling all sorts of emotions in anticipation of school openings, I thought it might be nice to share a resource or two to support them over half term.
I found these lovely self-compassion meditations and exercises by Kristin Neff: https://self-compassion.org/category/exercises/#exercises
I also enjoyed this meditation on self-compassion for caregivers: https://youtu.be/jJ9wGfwE-YE
I hope you find them helpful for yourselves too! We are offering a huge amount of care, both at work and in our personal lives, at a time that is challenging for everyone.
