We are re-opening Year 1 from Wednesday 3rd June (Skylark class) and Thursday 4th June (Nightingale class).

Children will be in smaller groups ("bubbles")of no more than 15 per classroom.  Children will be able to learn and play together within their bubble.  Each bubble will have an Ark Byron teacher and teaching assistant, with Miss Daya and Mrs Stanciene retaining responsibility for planning and pastoral care for all the children in their class.

To help a safe entry and exit from school, there will be staggered entry and exit times and different school hours whilst social distancing is required:

  • Nightingale: 8.30am- 3pm
  • Skylark: 8.45am- 3.15pm.

Lunchtimes will be shortened (as children will have less space to play) meaning learning time should not be lost despite the shorter day.

Entry/exit from school will be on a one-way, socially distanced, system round the playground – but parents will need to help with being punctual and patient and observing social distancing.

NB  On Wednesdays there will be an early pick-up so that teachers can plan together (usually we have different teachers leading learning during planning time but we will not do so in Summer 2, to minimise risk of infection):

  • Nightingale:12.45pm
  • Skylark: 1pm

Please see here for the Variance to our Behaviour policy during Summer 2: Behaviour Policy Covid variance.pdf

HOME LEARNING FOR SUMMER 2

As teachers will be teaching in class, it will not be possible fro us to continue to support home learning. If your child has to shield, or is in a family with a shielding member, we do not expect them to return to school. Please email us as soon as possible so that we can arrange learning resources to help them at this time.
