Re-opening: Reception Class
Reception reopens from 5th June (Swallow class) and 8th June (Swift class).
Children will be in smaller groups ("bubbles")of no more than 15 per classroom. Children will be able to learn and play together within their bubble. Each bubble will have an Ark Byron teacher and teaching assistant, with Miss Gillies and Miss Tsiantoula retaining responsibility for planning and pastoral care for all the children in their class.
There will be staggered entry and exit times and different school hours whilst social distancing is required:
This will help ensure a safe entry and exit from school. It will also allow the youngest children a shorter day to allow them to settle back to school.
Lunchtimes will be shortened (as children will have less space to play) meaning learning time should not be lost despite the shorter day.
Entry/exit from school will be on a one-way, socially distanced, system round the playground – but parents will need to help with being punctual and patient and observing social distancing.
NB On Wednesdays there will be an early pick-up so that teachers can plan together (usually we have different teachers leading learning during planning time but we will not do so in Summer 2, to minimise risk of infection):

Summer 2 Home Learning:
In Summer 2 we are re-opening the Reception classes and welcoming pupils back to school. We will not be able to continue to support home learning in the same way because teachers will be in class. We will provide learning resources for pupils who are shielding or in families with extremely clinically vulnerable members - please email us as soon as possible with this information.
