We are moving!
Counting down to the move from temporary accommodation within Ark Priory Primary Academy to our own new building on the Vale: 5 months to go!
The New Ark Byron Building
Work is now well underway on the construction of our permanent new home on the Vale. Please click here for the most recent Balfour Beatty newsletter about the project. Ark Byron Sept 2017_building newsletter.pdf
Ark Byron will remain on the Ark Priory site until the building is complete. We have converted Ark Priory’s nursery and music classrooms into temporary Reception classrooms for Ark Byron. These classrooms are on the Ground Floor so there is improved access to outdoor learning. A single portakabin classroom unit has been installed in the playground to accommodate the incoming Ark Priory nursery class.
From September 2017 the Priory building is overcapacity so, in order to have a safe entry and exit from school Ark Byron starts later (8.45am) and finishes at 3.45pm (except Fridays 2.45pm). Ark Byron has also had to reduce after school clubs available during this time.
Completion of the new Ark Byron building is expected early next year and we hope to move in February. This may mean that the school closes for an additional week after the half term February break so that teachers can prepare the classrooms and all the facilities are put in place for the children. This will be confirmed to parents as soon as possible.
The Education Funding Agency (EFA) is funding our new school building whilst Ealing Council manages the overall delivery project and the contractual process with Balfour Beatty, the building contractor. Ark will take possession of the building once complete.
We will keep you updated with all the latest developments so please do watch this space!
